He was born Feb. 6, 1948 in Long Branch, N.J., to William H. and Agnes B. Smith. David’s father William H. Smith predeceased him in 2004. He is survived by his mother Agnes B. Smith, Oxford; and his brother John A. Smith, also of Oxford. David is also survived by his partner, Allison Campbell of Sebastopol, Calif.; and several cousins in New Jersey.

She was born June 4, 1922 in Belleville, the daughter of Conrad and Grace Carter Kohl and was a 1940 graduate of the Belleville Union Academy School.
