NEW BERLIN – Paul H. Ray, 70, of New Berlin, passed away on April 21, 2012 at his home in New Berlin.
Paul was born on Jan. 7, 1942 in the Town of Butternuts, the son of Charles & Florence (Davis) Ray. His childhood was spent in Richfield Springs.
He was employed as a mechanic for Ray Nelson Farm Equipment for 16 years and later worked as a self-employed mechanic. He enjoyed camping, playing guitar and loved spending time with his family and grandchildren.
On June 23, 1962, Paul married Joyce Maxon, who survives him. He is also survived by his son and daughter-in-law; Joseph & Theresa Ray of New Berlin and their children; Kayla & Joseph Ray, brothers & sisters; Martha & Lewis Brown of the Town of Columbus, Naomi Wright of Norwich, Edward & Virginia Ray of West Winfield, Gary Ray of Leonardsville, Linda & Wayne Brownell of New Berlin, as well as several Aunts, Uncles, Nieces, Nephews and Cousins.
Paul was predeceased by one son; Paul L. Ray in 1979. He was also predeceased by his siblings; Charles Ray, Neva Loomis, Wendell Ray, Fern Robinson, baby Leon Ray as well as a baby sister.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday the Holmesville Baptist Church, Holmesville, with Pastor Romeyn Kipp officiating.
Calling hours will be held from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at the Dakin Funeral Home, LP New Berlin.
The interment will be held in the South Brookfield Cemetery.
