NORWICH – Nina A. Wells, 89, passed away on Saturday, April 14, 2012, following a brief illness. Her husband of almost seventy years was by her side.
Born May 29, 1922 in Morris, Nina was the daughter of Ray and Bessie (Baker) Aldrich. She grew up in Norwich and was a graduate of Norwich High School with the Class of 1940.
While her children were growing, Nina was a den mother for Cub Scout Pack 64 and also volunteered at Valley View Nursing Home and the American Red Cross Blood Bank.
On Dec. 20, 1942, Nina married Everett B. Wells Jr. who survives. She is also survived by her children, Jacqueline W. Raaymakers, Everett B. (Rhonda) Wells III, Kathy E. Wells and Daniel S. (Nancy) Wells; her grandchildren, Sara Eisencoff, Sharon Glidden, Joshua Wells and Aaron Wells; her great grandchildren, Ashley, Emma, Zoey, and Hunter. Also surviving is her very special “daughter,” Mickie Conklin and nieces and nephews, Kay Zaia, Wanda Kuhn and Wilmer Wells, Jr. Nina was predeceased by her parents and a brother, Daniel E. Aldrich.
Memorial services for Nina will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday at Emmanuel Episcopal Church. There will be no calling hours.
