Linda Moore

NORWICH – Linda (Rahn, Rivenburg) Moore passed away on March 30, 2012 as the result of a stroke. Linda was 61 and had spent the last 16 years living with her husband Jay in Henderson, Nevada, a suburb of Las Vegas.
Linda was born in Norwich, and had graduated from Norwich Senior High in the class of 1969. She and her husband Jay built a house on Pidgeon Hill in South Plymouth, with the help of many local friends. She worked with the Norwich Mental Health Clinic followed by employment with Mason and O’Keefe Veterinarians. She and Jay were both members of the Chenango Community Players. Linda raised two wonderful daughters, Thera and Kim. Linda loved to make costumes for school plays and for Halloween. And she loved fishing, playing golf and doing crossword puzzles. For the last couple of years she and Jay would drive across country from Henderson, where they spent the winter months, to a camp on the Oneida River in Brewerton, where they would spend the summer.
Linda is survived by her husband of 35 years Jay Moore; daughters Thera Rivenburg (Billy) Wright of Las Vegas and Kim Rivenburg (Mike) Hamilton of Brewerton; brother Ed Rahn (Lynn Wiegand) of Tully; three grandchildren (Bella and Zander Wright, and Jake Hamilton); sister-in-law Teena (Tom) McLaughlin of Loxahatchee, Fla.; brother-in-law Mike Moore and many cousins.
A memorial service will be held this coming August in Norwich.
Linda loved her pets and other people’s pets. Contributions can be made in her name to the Chenango County SPCA, or any other charitable organization.
