Joseph Miller


McDONOUGH – Joseph R. Miller, 81, of McDonough, passed away on April 7, 2012 at his home, with his family by his side. He was born on May 10, 1930 in Bayonne, N.J., a son of the late Joseph F. and Catherine (Lajewski) Miller.
Joe is survived by his children and spouses, Theresa and Dale Grumbine of New Jersey, John and Terrie Miller of New York, Tony Miller of New York, Glenn and Wendy Miller of Texas, Debra and Dough Monroe of New York, Catherine (Cat) Miller of New York, and Michael and Kristin Miller of New York; his brother-in-law, Robert Sudimack of New Mexico and 13 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren. He was predeceased by his wife, Barbara Burns Miller, his son Joseph Miller, his sister, Connie Sudimack and his great grandson, J.T. Wickham.
He was a U.S. Air Force veteran of the Korean War. He had worked as a woodsman, cutting trees with Terry Harvey, at Ford Homes, the Chenango County Highway Department and Gladding, Inc. He was an avid railroad buff, both real and models. He enjoyed his woodshop and making furniture. He also raised beta fish and cactus. He loved to go to the casino.
Funeral services will be held at 8 p.m. Thursday at the Behe Funeral Home, 21 Main St., Oxford with Rev. Donna Steckline, chaplain for Hospice of Chenango County officiating. Burial will be Friday at 1 p.m. in Holy Cross Cemetery, North Arlington, N.J.
Friends may call at the Behe Funeral Home on Thursday from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m.
