EAST PHARSALIA – Ronald Jervis George, 85, formerly of East Pharsalia, passed away peacefully on Thursday, April 29, 2010, at the New York Veterans’ home in Oxford.
Born and raised in Norwich, Ron was the son of Charles F. and Phebe Mae (Jervis) George. He attended Norwich City Schools. In November of 2001, through Operation Recognition, he received his high school diploma for the knowledge and experience obtained while on active military duty.

He was born July 2, 1929 in Norwich. He was the son of Theodore R. Conant and Myrtie Conant. Earl was an outstanding wrestler in Norwich High School and graduated from there in 1948. NORWICH – Ruth Green, 92, life-long Norwich resident, passed away late Thursday afternoon, April 1, 2010, in the Valley View Manor Nursing Home.
Born in Norwich in June of 1917, Ruth was the daughter of Thomas and Mary McGowan Stackhouse, Jr. She received her education in the Norwich school system, then worked for Scintilla during World War II. GUILFORD – Arnold M. Velle Jr. of Guilford passed away on March 29, 2010 at Strong Memorial Hospital, Rochester.
He was born on March 27, 1948 as the oldest child of the late Arnold and Mabel (Johnson) Velle Sr. On May 10, 1975, he married Catherine Schuessler, who survives.
Besides his wife, Catherine he is survived by his children, Arnold Velle of Guilford, Daniel Velle of Oneonta, and Elizabeth Moore and her husband, Eric of Norwich. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Caden Moore and Cameron Moore.
