SHERBURNE – William H. Schroder, 76, of State Hwy 12, passed away Wednesday, April 14, 2010 at Valley View Manor Nursing Home, Norwich.
He was born May 9, 1933 in Jamaica Queens, Long Island, a son of William H., Sr. and Ester Swanteson Schroder and received his education in local schools. On April 16, 1983, William married Karil L. Lewis in Smyrna. Mr. Schroder was a dairy farmer who owned and operated Schroder Farms in Sherburne and Smyrna until his retirement. He was a member of the Christ Lutheran Church in Norwich.
Surviving are his wife, Karil; his children, Michael Schroder of Sherburne; Richard Schroder of Philadelphia, Pa.; Kathy and Michael Platt of Conklin; a step-daughter, Paula Fairbanks of Georgia; a sister, Beverly Schroder of Florida; a brother and sister-in-law, Ronald and Julie Schroder of Rochester; six grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday from the Burgess & Tedesco Funeral Home, 10 S. Main St., Sherburne, followed by interment in the Willcox Cemetery, Smyrna.
Friends are invited to call at the funeral home on Saturday from Noon until 1 p.m. prior to the service.
