Harold Moore


NORWICH – Harold L. Moore, 85 of Norwich passed away on April 17, 2010 at HPH Hospice in New Port Richey, Fla.
He was born on April 15, 1925 in Oxford a son of George and Margaret (Lawton) Moore.
He is survived by his wife, Cora of Norwich; his sons, Robert and Deborah Moore of Meriden, Conn., Gary and Denise Moore of Oxford, and David and Patricia Moore of Norwich; and his brother, Leslie and Charlene Moore of St. Johnsville. Four step children and several grandchildren, step grandchildren, great grandchildren, step great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews also survive. He was predeceased by his first wife, Theda Baker Moore, his sons Richard and Timothy and his brothers, Claude and Herman.
Harold served in the U.S. Army during World War II and then worked at ECD Bendix in Sidney for over 30 years. He was a part time television repairman and NBT courier. He enjoyed reading westerns and watching western movies. He loved camping with his family, bowling and many happy hours playing cards at the Norwich and Rockdale Senior Centers. He looked forward to spending winters in Florida for the last five years.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, May 1 at 1:30 p.m. at the North Pharsalia Church with his nephew, James Moore officiating. Burial will be in Riverview Cemetery, Oxford.
Friends may call at the Behe Funeral Home, 21 Main St., Oxford on Friday, April 30, from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to the charity of ones choice.
