GUILFORD – Arnold M. Velle Jr. of Guilford passed away on March 29, 2010 at Strong Memorial Hospital, Rochester.
He was born on March 27, 1948 as the oldest child of the late Arnold and Mabel (Johnson) Velle Sr. On May 10, 1975, he married Catherine Schuessler, who survives.
Besides his wife, Catherine he is survived by his children, Arnold Velle of Guilford, Daniel Velle of Oneonta, and Elizabeth Moore and her husband, Eric of Norwich. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Caden Moore and Cameron Moore.
He served in the U.S. Navy during the Viet Nam War. He retired from Verizon Telephone Co. after more than 30 years of service. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather. He loved the ocean and fishing.
Services will be held on Friday, April 2, at Gerald Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery, Schuylerville. There will be no visiting hours.
