Delos Ingraham


NORWICH – Delos C. Ingraham, 89, of Norwich, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, April 4, 2010 at Chenango Memorial Hospital, Norwich.
He was born on April 29, 1920 in Oxford, a son of Ira and Nina (Brigham) Ingraham.
He is survived by his wife, Jeannette Ingraham of Norwich; his children, Joan Knapp of Sidney, Linda Miller of Norwich, Dolores and Paul Barber of Oxford, Randy and Kathy Ingraham of Oxford, James and Michelle Barber of Marathon, and Joyce and Lawrence Coyle of Norwich; his sister, Evelyn Ingraham of New Paltz. Several grandchildren, great grandchildren and nieces and nephews also survive.
He attended Guilford Schools and worked for the New York State DEC and then the NYS Department of Transportation for 28 years. He served in the U.S. Navy. He loved fishing and hunting. He and his wife enjoyed traveling to many bingo games. Following his retirement he lived in Florida for many years prior to his return to Chenango County.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday at the Behe Funeral Home, 21 Main St., Oxford with the Rev. Dennis McKenna pastor of the Norwich Assembly of God Church officiating. Burial will be in Riverview Cemetery, Oxford.
Friends may call at the Behe Funeral Home on Wednesday from 6 to 8 p.m.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Preston Fire Department or the American Cancer Society.
