NORWICH – Edwin A. Horton, 56, of Grotsinger Road, Norwich, passed away early Fri. morning (Dec. 1, 2006) at the NYS Veterans Home of Oxford following a long illness.
Born in Norwich on March 26, 1950, Eddie was the son of Edward and Myrtle (Blackman) Horton. While growing up in Oxford, he attended the Oxford schools, graduating with the Class of 1969. NORWICH –Funeral services for John Carsten were held on Saturday, Dec. 2, at 11 a.m. from the Calvary Baptist Church of Norwich. The Rev. Brian Conover, pastor, officiated. John’s daughter, Sharon Short, offered words of remembrance about her dad and also sang the Lord’s Prayer. Several other family members and friends also offered words of remembrance about John’s life. Pianist for the service was Lisa Conover.
Interment followed in the Godfrey Cemetery of Guilford with the Rev. Allen Carpenter offering the committal prayers.

He was born in Merrick, Long Island and was the owner of D. Hillman and Sons General Contractor.
Surviving are his wife, Frances; his daughter, Pamela Monroe (Glenn) of Marion, Md.; sons, Douglas Jr. (Donna Castle) of Bouckville, Kevin (Barbara) of South Otselic, and Scott (Tammy) of DeRuyter; brothers, John of Utica and Robert of Islip, L.I., ten grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

The oldest son of Ellsworth and Mary (Molly) Baker Knapp, he was born June 4, 1914 at the family farmstead on the Earlville-Poolville Road. NORWICH – Josephine DiNoto, 95, formerly of Adelaide Street, passed away peacefully on Thursday, Nov. 30, 2006 at the Chenango Memorial Residential Health Care Facility.
Josephine was born in Norwich on Oct. 26, 1911, the daughter of Frank and JoAnina (Fazio) Sastri. She lived most of her life in Norwich.
