Floyd Randall


CORTLAND – Floyd Jay Randall, 94, of Cortland, went home to be with the Lord on December 23, 2006 at Misty Glen, at the Cortland Regional Medical Center Nursing Facility.
Floyd was born March 18, 1912 on the Brackle Road, Cincinnatus, to the late Wilbur and Alice Rorapaugh Randall.
He was a loving Christian father and grandfather. He also appreciated hunting, fishing, camping, and writing personal rhymes to entertain his family.
He is survived by his children, Joyce (Dave) Camp of Cortland, M. Jean (Robert) Dempsey of Groton, Joan (David) Plew of McGraw, Janet Burtis of Syracuse, and Dr. Jared (Sue) Randall of Norwich; 13 grandchildren; 37 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Ethel Crosby of Va., and Edith Selover of Pa., and a brother, Fred Randall of Fla. along with several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Floyd was predeceased by his wife, Ruby Pforter Randall in 1997 and by a granddaughter, Andrea Plew Beers.
A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Memorial Baptist Church, 125 Tompkins St., Cortland, with the Rev. David Daniels officiating, assisted by the Rev. Mike Leary. Friends may call at the church on Wednesday from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. prior to the service.
Contributions may be made to Memorial Baptist Church, Cortland.
Arrangements are with the Shurtleff Funeral Home, Groton.
