NORWICH – Dennis L. Macie, 60, of Peacock Park Apts., Norwich, passed away Wednesday, December 20, 2006 at his home.
Born in Cooperstown on March 28, 1946, Dennis was the son of Edward L. and Bemice E. (Ritchey) Macie. Following his education, Dennis joined the U. S. Army and served his country during the Vietnam Conflict, from Dec. 20, 1965, through December 1, 1967, when he entered the Army Reserve. In 1973, Dennis moved to Norwich, where he took employment with Victory Markets, working in the warehouse on East Main Street.
He was a well-known bartender in several area establishments, including the VFW and American Legion where he was a member. At one time, Dennis worked as a painter, and he was an avid bowler.
Dennis is survived by his children: Denise Macie and fiancé Brian Smith of Norwich, Frank J. Hatton and wife Linda ofBinghamton, John J. Hatton, Sr., of Binghamton, and Kittie Tessier of Norwich; by his companion, Pam Fuller of Earlville; and by four brothers. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Brooke and Brian Smith; the mother of his children, Caroline Dickson ofKirkwood; and several uncles.
At Dennis' request, there will be no formal funeral or calling hours. Interment at a later date will be at the convenience of his family.
