NORWICH — Individuals of all ages are invited to join the Chenango SPCA Book Buddies Program, where participants can visit with the shelter cats and read them their favorite books.

Stop by the SPCA with a favorite novel, comic book, or even a newspaper from noon to 4 p.m. every day of the week except Thursday and Sunday. All ages and reading levels are welcome, and the SPCA recommends a 30-minute reading time to allow for play time with the cats afterward.

Visitors can also stop by the SPCA's Little Libraries out front of the shelter at 6160 County Road 32 in Norwich and take a book, leave a book, or both.
