BOWLING: UV Earns Sweep Against Greene-Oxford

GREENE – The Unadilla Valley Storm bowling teams just keep rolling along as both the boys and girls swept Greene-Oxford over the weekend. The sweeps didn’t come easily as UV boys came away with a 2990-2388 victory and the girls with a 2661-2383 win.

Owen Hill struck another dominant finish with a 694 high series, the highest of the contest. He bowled all 220 and above with a 242 in the final game. Jacob Prentice achieved the highest game of the day with a 245 in the second of three games and tied with Blake Wright with a 601 series.

Greene-Oxford’s Aiden Carter bowled a 214 in the first game to end up with a team-high 591 while teammate Nick Flynn finished with a 546 in the 5-0 loss.

Both teams included talented female bowlers for the girls matchup. Greene-Oxford’s Brianna Fowlston and Halia Tallett had impressive games, but fell to the powerful hands of Brynn Grant and Pyper Kneale.

Fowlston bowled a high series of a 530, best on the team, with a 191 in the first game. Tallett held the team’s highest score of the contest with a 195 in the second game to finish with a 512 series.

Grant led all scorers with a 593 series, including a best 216 in the second game. Pyper Kneale bowled two 200 games (203 and 212) to finish behind Grant with a 575 series.

UV will be hosting Bainbridge-Guilford, who just came off their highest score in team history, on Wednesday at 3:45 p.m.
