NEW BERLIN – After suffering hard losses in close battles, the Unadilla Valley Storm boys basketball team got back on track with a 47-36 win over Otselic Valley. This win was just their second on the season.
Both teams came to play on Monday evening with player matchups settling in. Haywood Edwards was guarding Braeden Davis while Kaden Butts had Cole Warren. Haywood Edwards and Braeden Davis were the leading scorers on the night. Edwards picked up 11 points after having to sit with multiple fouls while Davis led all scorers with 23 points.
UV got into a groove in the first half of play and took a 31-17 lead at halftime. They went back to work in the third quarter with 10 points to OV’s seven and at one point, the Storm had built a 20-point lead.
The Storm pulled their starters in the fourth quarter and had lost the big lead as the Vikings picked up offensive rebounds that finally led to more scoring chances. But, the inconsistency did not help them make the overall comeback, but felt a little bit better with only an 11-point deficit.
The Storm and the Vikings will meet again for another MAC-CSC, Section IV vs Section III matchup on January 23 in Otselic.
