NORWICH — The Norwich Police Department will be hosting a fall Drug Take Back Day, sponsored by the Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA) on Saturday, October 29.

From 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., area residents can bring prescription, over the counter, and illegal drugs to the rear of the department, located at 18 East Main Street in Norwich. Liquids and needles or sharps are not accepted.

Unwanted drugs are taken with no questions asked and placed in cardboard containers for disposal by the Syracuse DEA later that day.

Chenango Health Network Drug Free Communities Coalition members will also be present at the event with educational materials.

For those who can't make it to Saturday's Drug Take Back Day, NPD Deputy Chief of Police Scott Burlison said the department accepts drug drop offs year round.
