NORTH NORWICH – The Town of North Norwich recently underwent a supervisor change, with the recently elected supervisor stepping down, and the supervisor that came before them returning to fill the gap.

According to Town of North Norwich Clerk Lorretta Smith, Town of North Norwich Board Members decided that following the resignation of Timothy Brown, who served approximately a year as the supervisor after a close election, Robert Wansor would be best suited to take over.

“Robert came forward when he heard that Mr. Brown had resigned, he spoke individually with all of the board members,” said Smith. “The board members thought that he could fill in, he knew the job, and he could serve on the county level as well.”

“It was a good fit and we were happy that he was willing to step back up and allow us the representation we’d have with a new supervisor rather than promoting the deputy supervisor.”

Smith said that no one else expressed interest in the position as well, and that there appears to be a steady decline in individuals getting involved in community matters as of the past 10 years.
