NORWICH – The Norwich Purple Tornado baseball team welcomed Chenango Valley and also celebrated senior night on Wednesday evening. Congratulations to Colin Olds, Jackson Sastri, and Braden Reid, who were honored prior to the game. Norwich fell 13-2 to the Warriors.

Chenango Valley went off with a 8-0 lead before Norwich scored its first of two runs in the bottom of the fourth inning. Zack Parker continues to show strength offensively as he drove in a run on an RBI double and also stole a base. Parker also had the most fielding opportunities on the defense while playing shortstop.

Hunter Coombs drove in the final run for Norwich with an RBI single to left field in the bottom of the sixth inning. Otherwise, Chenango Valley was able to bring in the ball quickly and even caught advancing Norwich base runners to end the inning.

Braden Reid got the start on the mound for Norwich, going three innings and struck out two batters. Carmine Pastore worked a tough inning before Jackson Sastri closed with three innings of work, coming in to relieve Pastore with no outs in the top of the fifth. Sastri was credited for one hit, two walks, and struck out a pair.
