Colorscape Chenango Arts Festival Is Grateful For The Support From The Community
Published: October 12th, 2020

NORWICH – Colorscape Chenango Arts Festival is grateful for the continued support from our Central New York community. Nearly 100 people subscribed to our 2020 Colorscape Virtual Festival channel on YouTube two weeks ago and there were more than 4,500 views of our content there. Thirty artists and four paid musical groups - The Slambovian Circus of Dreams, The Adam Ezra Group, The Realtime Dixieland Band and the Beadle-O'Conner Country Duo - played special concerts for us. We are glad so many of you enjoyed the "show."

Moreover, our major partners: Snyder Communications, Golden Artists Colors, Chobani and NBT Bank provided testimonials during the Virtual Festival. Significant support also came from throughout Chenango, Broome and Otsego counties, including from our media sponsors, The Evening Sun/Pennysaver, WCDO and WRVO; our steadfast partners, foundations, and C-Scapers; NYS Decentralization, Commerce Chenango and Chenango County Tourism. We are delighted and humbled that you share our vision and Mark Golden's that "Art Can Change the World."

The COVID has thrown us for a loop. So many artists, musicians, and performance and culinary artists - along with their staffs - are suffering at this time. We didn't want to cancel Colorscape, believe me. However, our board's decision weighed the health concerns of our volunteers, exhibitors and approximately 12,000 visitors first. It was a heart wrenching decision after having celebrated our 25th anniversary just last year. Who would have thought?

A huge thank you goes out to our Executive Director Celeste Friend and her committee of Board Member Laura Parker and Publicist Roz DeRensis for making the Virtual Festival a reality. In case you missed it, a link is still available (as well as a link to all of our 2020 juried artists and our Facebook page) via our website at www.colorscape.org. Artists' websites are listed in the paragraph below their presentations on YouTube. Simply click on them and you will be taken to their online Colorscape "booths" to make a purchase. For those of you at home with pre-schoolers, there are very easy and fun arts activities for children.

On behalf of the board: See you in the parks next year. We will be back better than ever!
