Afton and Bainbridge Free Library

Due to the County, State, and Federal State of Emergency, the Afton and Bainbridge Free Library will be closed to the public until further notice, this includes all events and programs that were scheduled for the month of March. Late fees will be waived while the library is closed. This decision was made after careful consideration. We will post updates as the situation changes.

Library Notification to Patrons: As a result of the coronavirus spreading into the Four County Library Service area and out of an abundance of caution, inter-library loan of all library materials will be suspended beginning Tuesday, March 17. If current plans hold, delivery service will resume on Tuesday, April 14. During this time, the ability to place holds on items in the 4cls online catalog will be suspended. We will update you on any changes.

Greene Moore Memorial Library

The Board of Trustees met this evening to address the COVID-19 situation. We will be closed as of 8 p.m. on March 17 night until March 31 and will re-evaluate at that time. Our WiFi will stay up and will be available as it normally is such as in the parking lot, etc. Due dates will be extended during this time. Books can also be returned in the drop box at the front of the library. We will be checking the box and sanitizing dropped books daily.

Norwich Guernsey Memorial Library

The following actions are being taken because of the public health concerns surrounding COVID-19. The library is closing and canceling all public events including non-library events held in our venue as of 8:30 p.m. on Tuesday, March 17. The library will remain closed until further notice.

During this closing we will thoroughly clean the library. There will be a “Little Free Library” on the porch of the library where the public can pick up free books. These materials will be taken from book sale donations. We will attempt to disinfect these materials but cannot guarantee them to be safe.

We will check the book drop periodically and make sure the “Little Free Library” is full. We will not be accepting book donations.

We will provide 24-hour 7-day a week wifi outside the building so that people with their own devices can still access internet.

We will suspend all library fines for the duration of the situation of health concern to encourage people to stay home if sick even if library materials are due.

We will provide electronically available materials through GuernseyMemorialLibrary.org, including ebooks and audiobooks through Download Zone/Libby. If you need a card number or fine forgiveness to access this service, email guernsey@4cls.org or phone 607-334-4034 and leave a message. We will help you as soon as we are able. We hope to reopen soon. Stay safe and healthy!

Oxford Memorial Library

The Oxford Memorial Library, in conjunction with the Oxford Academy & Central Schools, closed on Wednesday, March 18.

Library representatives said they are hoping to be able to reopen on Tuesday, April 14, depending on the situation with the Corona Virus and what the school system does.

Representatives asked that patrons please return items in our Book Return on our front porch. Staff will be checking in to empty the book return, pick up the mail and check to make sure everything is ok.

We will not be charging fines on items returned in our book return during this time so if you have any really overdue or lost books this would be a good time to find them and return them.

The Four County Library System will not be making deliveries for the Interlibrary Loan Items patrons have requested and they plan to suspend the ability to place holds.

Please check out the library’s Oxford Memorial Library Youth Services facebook page for up to the date information and on-line storytimes and posts. Also check out our regular Oxford Memorial Library facebook page and our website http://oxfordmemoriallibrary.org.

Representatives said they are very sorry for this inconvenience, and that they want everyone to stay safe and healthy.
