Published: October 1st, 2019

NORWICH –  The Monday Evening Musical Club (MEMC) will be celebrating 110 years with a Folk Music Concert at 7:30 p.m. on October 7 at the United Church of Christ, 11 West Main St., Norwich.

The featured performers will be Jenni Larchar and Tom Murphy. Larchar and Murphy play well-loved music from the great American songbook, with Murphy calling on the Irish music of his youth and Larchar calling on the fiddle from hers, for a repertoire that includes vintage Country Western swing, from “Hey, Good-Lookin” to “The Tennessee Waltz.”

Officials said Larchar's polished vocals, fiddle playing and Murphy's unique stride piano style combine to bring their audience tunes that range from toe-tapping to soulful.
