NORWICH – This Saturday in McGraw, both the Valley Heights Crusader boys and girls soccer teams face-off against the Eagles of Syracuse Christian Academy for the Empire State Christian Athletic League championships. For both programs, Saturday’s title game will be the third time this season VHCA and Syracause have squared off against each other.

The Lady Crusaders have split wins this season with Syracuse, losing the first 2-0 before getting a 2-0 victory over the Eagles.

In the first game, Head Coach Eliza Gieger stated that she was missing two key players. One of those players is Emily Davis, plagued with an ankle injury earlier this season but has recently shown that same injury no longer bothers her.

In game two against Syracuse, Davis was still on a playing time restriction as Gieger was trying not to push the injury if it was not complete ready. But Davis proved she was a factor in the game, assisting a goal to her teammate Macey Montgomery and netting a goal of her own.

In the most recent games, Davis’ shots found the back of the net five times from all angles of the field against Corning Christian Academy, and scored a goal in the semifinal upset win over the top-seeded Finger Lakes.

Knowing this same information, Syracuse will be paying close attention to Davis.
