UV had multiple scoring threats in the first half, but those opportunities were either turned away by Norwich keeper Keegan Prime, or a shot attempt was off the mark.

The Storm closed the gap in the second half behind two goals from Nate Barker, the latter on a breakaway.

With five minutes to play, UV earned a penalty kick with a chance to tie, but Prime came up big making the stop to preserve the Norwich advantage. On Prime's ensuing punt, he caught the Storm defense pushed up, and his long boot was received by Sean Phelan. Phelan gave Norwich some necessary cushion scoring his first goal of the season. "(Phelan's goal) was the pivotal moment of the game and really the knockout blow," said UV coach Ryan Houck. "Up until Prime's big play in the second half, we had the momentum our way and looked good. It's really hard to beat a team in 40 minutes when you've already spotted them three goals."
