UV-Edmeston 14, Deposit-Hancock 6

HANCOCK –  UV-Edmeston ended the 2011 season on a high note Friday night at Deposit-Hancock.

After suffering through a winless patch in division play this season, the Storm snapped a five-game losing streak to post its second win.

Brandon Miles blocked a D-H punt in the third quarter, and added the scoop-and-score hauling in the high bounce in the endzone to make it a 14-6 game. “I thought Deposit-Hancock was a good team,” said UV-E head coach Brian Banks. “I said all along that once our team starts to click, we’ll be dangerous. We played really well.”

Miles also threw a 23-yard TD pass in the second quarter to Justin Hofer, and Hofer’s two-point run gave the Storm an 8-6 lead at halftime.

Kody Homann lugged the ball 15 times for a team-high 118 yards, and had 15 tackles on defense to go with one fumble recovery. Josh Fargo moved to linebacker for this game, added 12 tackles, three sacks, and a fumble recovery as well.
