GREENE – After reaching an agreement at the end of last season, both Oxford and Greene decided to merge its football programs for the 2025 season. It was a positive feeling for both schools, who had struggled to successfully return to 11-man football, to join to get back into a mighty Class D schedule.
The Oxford-Greene “Trohawks” took to the field for the first time in new uniforms in a week zero game against STAC contenders Oneonta. OG is co-coached by James Wrench and Jason Lyon. Oneonta scored 30 points in a wild first half of play and the OG defense held them to just seven points in the second half. The Yellowjackets took the 37-8 victory.
Oxford-Greene got on the board late in the second half as David Dunckel found the end zone for the first touchdown in OG program history and Dunckel successfully helped the team convert on the two-point conversion.
