WINDSOR – After a hard game against Cooperstown, the Norwich Post #189 Legion team played its second consecutive game as they faced Windsor on Tuesday.

The game was scoreless until the bottom of the fifth inning, creating a pitchers’ duel. Windsor got on the board first in the bottom of the fifth with five unearned runs and held on to the 5-0 victory.

The fifth inning brought hope for both teams as Norwich’s Owen Olds led-off the top of the fifth inning with a single to center field. Unfortunately, he was the lone base runner for Norwich as Windsor’s defense played cleanly with no errors and the pitchers didn’t allow a single walk.

Even though Windsor was held to three hits themselves by solid pitching from newly High School graduates Braden Reid and Jackson Sastri, they scored five runs in the bottom half of the inning. Two singles drove in runs with runners taking advantage of the cut-off throw coming back into the infield and testing the defense with their speed. Two errors brought in runs as another was scored on a passed ball.
