NORWICH — The Chenango Arts Council is proud to announce the recipients of this year’s Grants for Teachers program. A total of $5,385 was awarded to 13 Chenango County teachers in the Norwich, Greene, Otselic Valley, Sherburne-Earlville, Afton, Greene, Oxford, Bainbridge-Guilford, and Valley Heights school districts. Thanks to this support, over 1,000 students in Pre-K through 12th grade, including those in special education programs, will have the opportunity to explore engaging and creative learning experiences. Topics range from “STEM in the Classroom” and “Illuminating Young Minds: a STEAM Light Table Exploration Center” to ceramics classes, Magnetiles, KEVA planks, and new supplies for the Nature Art Club.

Grants for Teachers provides individual grants of up to $500 directly to Chenango County educators to assist with the inclusion of arts-related projects or events into their standard curriculum. Awarded annually, the program involves submission of an application detailing the project, and requires a budget, itemized wish-list, potential benefit to students, and number of students potentially reached, and if a prior applicant, a final report outlining the previous year’s project outcome. Applications for next year’s program will be available in the spring of 2027 on the Arts Council website: ChenangoArts.org
