MARATHON – The Section IV, Class D track and field championship was held on Wednesday in Marathon. Bainbridge-Guilford boys' and girls' were victorious and won the sectional title for their respective meets. Unadilla Valley girls' took second as the boys' finished seventh. Afton girls' finished 16th as the boys' came in 13th place.

It was a great all-around showcase for Chenango County athletes who have been working hard all season.

The Bainbridge-Guilford girls' won the sectional title with 100 team points. The girls' relay teams were strong with a top finish in the 4x800 with a team of Vanessa Brazee, Maddie Ingham, Lalaenia Baldwin, and Ethne Degan.The 4x400 team took second with Ingham, Keelan Ammon, Sage Pruskowski, and Laila Brazee, and the 4x100 team finished seventh.
