AFTON — The Oxford and Bainbridge-Guilford/Afton/Harpursville boys’ soccer teams faced off against one another on Wednesday afternoon in Afton. Oxford stayed strong with a big 10-2 victory to improve to 6-1 on the season. Oxford dished out six goals while BGAH had its two prior to halftime.

Oxford was led by Gordon Smith with a team-high and astonishing six goals and one assist.

Paxton LaMonica and Joey Locke both scored twice with LaMonica also having two assists. Calvin Moore had a team-high three assists as Gaven Dibble picked up one assist.

BGAH’s Ben Porter scored both goals for the Bears while Julian Terrell had one assist.

Oxford (6-1) heads to Delhi on Monday at 5 p.m. while BGAH (1-6) hosts Delhi this afternoon in Bainbridge at 4:30 p.m.
