Softball: B-G Defeats Oneonta

ONEONTA – Coming off a good finish in the MAC playoffs, the Bainbridge-Guilford Bobcats softball team traveled to take on STAC opponent Oneonta for an additional game before sectionals. B-G earned their 15th win of the season with a 7-2 victory on Tuesday afternoon. B-G finished third in the MAC after losing to Sidney for the chance to go to the MAC Championship.

B-G scored two runs in the first, third, and fifth innings and scored on a passed ball in the second. The Bobcats plated seven runs on four hits off the hot bats of Breanna Casey, Jayslin Henderson, and Tori Suda.

B-G scored two runs in the first inning off a passed ball and a wild pitch before a passed ball in the second made it 3-0. Oneonta added a run in the second and another in the fourth and even outhit the Bobcats six to four, but otherwise, Gabby Cuozzo and the defense kept the Yellowjackets off the board.

Casey led off the third inning with a triple and scored on an error before three walks loaded the bases and another walk brought in a run. Henderson hit an RBI triple in the fifth inning while one run scored on a wild pitch.
