Sheriff’s Office And NY State Parole Charge Pitcher Resident With Felonies

PITCHER – On January 17, a Town of Pitcher resident was arrested by the Chenango County Sheriff’s Office for drug and property crimes with help from New York State Parole.

Joshua Whaley, 40, of the Town of Pitcher, was charged with third degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, a felony; second degree, criminal possession of stolen property, a felony; two counts of second degree criminal use of drug paraphernalia, a misdemeanor; and seventh degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, a misdemeanor.

The sheriff reported that during the investigation members of New York State Parole searched Whaley’s property and located a shotgun, and a case containing fifty wax envelopes of Fentanyl and packaging material, inside Whaley’s private residence.

Also located on the property was a Ford F-550, with an altered vehicle identification number, which was found to have been reported stolen out of New Hartford, New York.

After being arrested, members of parole issued an arrest warrant for Whaley, for a Violation of Parole. Whaley was processed for the above-mentioned charges and was held at the Chenango County Correctional Facility on the warrant.

Whaley is to appear in the Town of Pitcher Court at a later date.
