BAINBRIDGE – Over the weekend, the Afton/Harpursville Crimson Knights bowling team hosted the tip-off tournament at Bainbridge’s Galaxy Bowl, which also featured Unadilla Valley/Norwich, Oxford/Greene, and Bainbridge-Guilford. The Crimson Knights’ girls bowling team and the Unadilla Valley/Norwich Storm boys team finished first in the overall tournament.

Afton/Harpursville girls were led by Jaelin Brown with a 691 series as Amber Kolb bowled a 228. The Crimson Knights also had help from UV Storm’s Shannon Gilbert to make a full team.

The Crimson Knights boys’ team fell second to UV by only five pins. Aiden Smith had the second high-handicap game of a 286 as Afton/Harpursville scored a total score of 3550.

The Storm boys finished first and were led by Nate Rumovicz, who had the highest scratch game of a 259 as Jacob Prentice had the second highest and Dawson Robinson with the third highest. UV’s Teagin Eccleston accomplished having the most pins over average series, the most pins over average game, and earned first place high handicap series.

UV’s Shelby Rose earned first place high handicap game for the girls while Andie Mucha took the second place high series scratch and Brynn Grant with the third highest series scratch. Kathleen Bordonaro helped the short-handed B-G girls to a second place victory.

The Oxford-Greene girls bowling team took second place scratch with three confident bowlers earning awards on the day. Brianna Fowlston had the highest scratch game and was tied for high scratch series. Lily Baxter was awarded third place in high scratch game as Danica Fowlston earned third place high handicap series.
