NORWICH – The Norwich Police Department is investigating a stabbing that took place on Brown Avenue in the City of Norwich on Monday evening at approximately 11:40 p.m.

Norwich officers responded to the scene and found a 29-year-old male who had been stabbed multiple times. Officers then rushed the victim to the emergency room at UHS Chenango Memorial Hospital in Norwich.

The victim was later transferred to Wilson Hospital with a collapsed lung and other serious medical conditions.

We believe this was a drug-related incident, and we are hoping to have the perpetrator in custody shortly,” said Norwich Police Chief Reuben Roach.

Norwich police are collecting evidence and following up on leads and are asking anyone with information to contact the Norwich Police Department at 607-334-2424.
