NORWICH – The 30th annual Chenango Blues Festival was jammin’ last weekend at the Fairgrounds with a full line up of top performers and players that rocked the crowds from their first notes to their last.
Chenango Blues Festival President Eric Larsen said, “It was a great day for the festival on Saturday with record breaking attendance. Fans who have been coming for years told us it was the best fest yet- every artist brought their ‘A’ game and we had everything from relatively unknown acts like Melody Angel to Hall of Famers like Charlie Musselwhite turn in stellar performances.
This year's lineup included Charlie Musselwhite, Tommy Castro and the Painkillers, Sister Sparrow and the Dirty Birds, Curtis Salgado, Reverend Peyton's Big Damn Band, Jimmy Carpenter, Melody Angel, Terrance Simien, John Primer, Honey Island Swamp Band, Guy Davis, and the Gabe Stillman Band.
“Some of the best performances you will see anywhere,” Larsen said. “Blues music from the Mississippi Hills country to Chicago’s south side to San Fransisco and New Orleans, from deep blues to soul to R&B; there was something for everyone.”
