BAINBRIDGE – On Friday, the Oxford Lady Blackhawks and the Bainbridge-Guilford Lady Bobcats met for the second time this season. It was another game where Oxford dominated the floor. This time they picked up a 58-37 victory compared to the 52-32 win in December. Despite the loss, the Bobcats have been playing consistently late in the season with a record of 9-7.

Oxford, coming off a hot game against Harpursville, was not bashful against a steady B-G. The Blackhawks pushed through in three of four quarters, putting up their best of 24 points in the second quarter to take a 36-20 lead at halftime. B-G scored their highest of 12 points in the second quarter, but was held to single-digits throughout the game, especially in the final eight minutes.

Oxford picked up 40 rebounds on the night with 28 being defensive. Madalyn Barrows collected 12 of the 28 rebounds and posted her seventh double-double on the season as she scored 17 points. Kyla Kelsey-Jones had her second strong back-to-back game with scoring 13 points this time. Jocie Finch and Taylor Smith tied with six points and both hit two three’s each.

B-G was led by Taylor Kazmirski, who has stepped up since her return to the lineup, with 11 points, including three three-pointers. Jayslin Henderson finished behind her with nine points. Celeste Baldwin was held to seven points, but picked up 10 rebounds with nine being defensive.
