Teen Killed In Greene After Car Hits Tree

CHENANGO COUNTY – The Chenango County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a fatal accident that occurred in the Town of Greene on Tuesday.

Following the accident Police announced Tuesday evening that 19-year-old, Kaleb M. Lorows, of Willet, was pronounced deceased at the scene.

Chenango County Sheriff Ernest Cutting said emergency crews responded to a 911 call at about 5:26 a.m. that reported a one car motor vehicle accident on State Highway 206, near the intersection of County Road 2.

A short time after crews arrived on scene they reported finding a fatality.

Members of the Sheriff’s Office Road Patrol Division, Detectives Division and Accident Reconstruction Team also responded to the scene to investigate. The Chenango County Sheriff’s Office was assisted on the scene by the Greene Fire Department, Genegantslet Fire Department and the NYS DOT.

Preliminary findings alleged Lorows was driving a 2001 Chevrolet Malibu, and traveling eastbound on State Highway 206 when the vehicle left the road striking a guard rail and then a tree.

The investigation into the cause of the motor vehicle accident is ongoing.
