NEW BERLIN — On a cold Monday night, Unatego defeated UV/GMU 23-1 in five innings.

Unatego’s Jessica Partridge was perfect through four innings before giving up a run in the fifth. Partridge also struck out eight batters in the win.

The Spartans offensively scored a total of nine runs in the fifth off UV relievers. Bailey McCoy was the highlight player at the plate with a triple and scored two runs.

UV/GMU Ava Rowe had the only hit and scored the lone run for the Storm in the loss.

Unatego will host Walton on Wednesday before hosting Oxford on Friday while UV/GMU looks to bounce back on the road against Delaware Academy Wednesday afternoon.
