Electric vehicle charging stations now available at Oxford Memorial Library

OXFORD — Oxford Memorial Library is pleased to offer two electric vehicle charging stations as another service for the community’s use. And the best part? Thanks to our solar panels, the use of these charging stations is absolutely free!

In 2019, the Board of Trustees of the Oxford library began planning for the expansion of the solar panels, with the addition of the two Blink network electric vehicle chargers. Funding for the chargers was provided by the library’s capital funding, and also funding through the NY EV Make Ready Program administered by NYSEG and the NY Charge Ready Program administered by NYSERDA.

Shortly after the solar panel addition began producing electricity, the two electric vehicle chargers were brought online and became operational. The chargers are compatible with all plug-in hybrid and fully electric vehicles using the standard J1772 plug. To use the chargers, park in one of the two designated spaces, plug in, touch the screen, and follow the prompts on the station screen.
