Come learn some fun and spooky Halloween moves to get your body moving led by Michael Myers (you will remember him as the villain in the “Halloween” movies). Get this fun, family event on your calendar and join us to celebrate one of our most beautiful seasons!

We are thrilled to welcome back Wells Horton for a new photo presentation entitled “Birding Hotspots with Wells Horton.” Since 2017 Wells and his wife, Marsha, have traveled to 43 States, all ten Canadian Provinces, and the Yukon Territory. In their travels they have explored various birding locations. Wells is a local landscape photographer who also does some wildlife photography.

Join us as Wells shares this presentation about birds and birding locations. A few of the species shown will include Northern Gannets, Atlantic Puffins, Sand Hill Cranes, Eagles, Semi-Palmated Sandpipers, Whooping Cranes, various Owls, and California Condors. You will not want to miss this. The program is Tuesday, November 16, at 7 p.m. in the library. Masks are required in the library.

Join us on Thursdays at 10:30 a.m. as children’s librarian Mr. Mike conducts Story Time infused with songs and movement! Each week he reads a story, they learn a new letter from the alphabet, he leads them in songs, and they do a craft. On Fridays at 10:30 a.m., Mr. Mike does a virtual Story Time via Zoom. If you’re interested in tuning in, you can contact the library for the link at 607-674-4242. These sessions are also recorded and posted on our Facebook page each week.

For Halloween, various members of the staff are recording Spooky Readings and posting them each week on Facebook. You can find a new one each Monday morning at 10 a.m. throughout the month of October, with a special reading on Halloween eve. So jump into bed and cover your head, then listen to our spooky stories, if you dare!

You can find all our recorded videos on our YouTube page – just search for Sherburne Public Library. We have all our craft, cooking, book talks, stories, and story time videos posted there for your viewing pleasure.

Remember that our beautiful old front stair entrance is our only entrance for now until the newer entrance is fixed after the April accident, where someone drove into our building. The repairs are starting soon and we hope to have it fixed by February.
