Norwich volleyball continues to roll

Norwich 3, Susquehanna Valley 0

CONKLIN - Norwich’s volleyball team ran its unbeaten streak to 11 straight matches as it swept three sets from Susquehanna Valley on Tuesday, 25-9, 25-8, 25-7.

Coming off a tournament win in Dryden the previous weekend - a performance where NHS did not drop a set - Norwich not only didn’t drop a set, it didn’t allow double-digit points to the Sabers in any set.

Lauren Squires again set the tone for Norwich (11-1) with 17 kills, 8 digs, 8 aces, and four blocks. Meg Lindridge led the defense with 11 digs, Maddy Morris had 16 assists, Madisyn Ryan totaled nine assists, and Miranda Cole totaled 10 kills and seven digs.

Norwich hosts Unadilla Valley on Wednesday.

Lauren Squires 17 kills, 8 digs, 8 aces, 4 blocks, 2 assists; Maddy Morris 16 assists, 2 kills, 2 aces, Meg Lindridge 11 digs, 3 aces; Joana Santos 2 kills, 2 digs. Kayla Sherman 2 kills, 5 digs. Madisyn Ryan 9 assists; Miranda Cole 10 kills, 7 digs; Jesse Little 2 aces.

Oxford 3, Walton 1

WALTON - After a second set stumble, Oxford regrouped to finish off Walton in four sets on Tuesday, 25-12, 24-26, 25-23, 25-10.

Madalyn Barrows had a team-high 10 kills for the Blackhawks (8-1), and Mallory Olsen-Nichols set the pace with 18 assists and four aces.

Hailey Richardson chipped in with a team-high eight digs to go with four kills.

Oxford 8-1 overall

Harpursville/Afton 3, Bainbridge-Guilford

HARPURSVILLE - Harpursville/Afton’s Mallory Carman, Caidence Ryder, and Kylie Havens put up big numbers to lead their club to a 25-13, 25-19, 25-21 sweep of Bainbridge-Guilford on Tuesday.

Carman had 15 assists, Ryder 12 kills, and Havens led the defense with 14 digs.

Mariah Miller had 12 assists for B-G, and Jordyn Parson charted eight kills.
