Field Hockey Roundup: Whitney Point Deals Greene Its First Loss

GREENE - At George Raymond Field, visiting Whitney Point scored at least once in each quarter, and handed Greene its first loss of the season picking up a 5-0 shutout on Tuesday evening.

Already leading Greene by a two goals entering the third quarter, Whitney Point's Genevieve Huston put the game away with a pair of goals.

Huston scored unassisted with 8:05 left in the third, and tallied again less than two minutes later giving the Eagles an insurmountable four-goal advantage.

Taylor Petrie added one goal and one assist for Whitney Point, which held a 21-4 advantage in shots on goal.

SHERBURNE - Sherburne-Earlville outshot Morrisville-Eaton by nearly a three-to-one margin, but needed just a single goal to earn the shutout victory on Tuesday.

Desirae Owen was credited with the Marauders' goal, with Josie Parker garnering the assist.

Abby Kochman made five saves in goal for S-E to earn the shutout.
