Blue Devils Defeats Tornado Linksters

GREENE- The young and ever improving Norwich Purple Tornado varsity golf team traveled to the Genegantslet golf course in Greene on Thursday afternoon to take on the Chenango Forks Blue Devils. 

The Blue Devils performed valiantly on the par-36 course. Forks had three golfers shoot +2 or better on the afternoon, as they defeated the Tornado golfers by a final score of 206-262. 

Norwich’s Julian Smith led the Tornado scoring 49 on the afternoon. Jacob Morris shot a 51, Aiden Stafford shot 53, Max Marson scored a 54, and Jacob Dowdall finished with 55. Cooper Burton rounded out the scoring for the Purple with a score of 62. 

Chenango Forks’ Emily Gresham, the #1 ranked junior girl golfer in New York State led her team as she shot an even par score of 36.

Trevor Warpus scored a 37 and Ryan Locke shot a 38. Brian Tye, Bradley Needels and TJ Testa shot scores of 43, 50, and 58 respectively to pace the Blue Devils. 

Norwich (3-4) returns to the course on Tuesday June 1st when they travel to Chenango Valley with the match slated to begin at 4:30pm.
