NEW YORK – Coronavirus and its effects have shown the importance of keeping in touch.  A phone call, a FaceTime session or even a simple note can make a huge difference to someone’s well-being, especially at a time where being socially distant is necessary.

Some of those most impacted by social distancing are those who reside in assisted living and nursing care facilities.  Early on, these facilities put measures in place to protect residents from coronavirus, often completely limiting outside visits. As we enter into the cold-weather season, these parameters are likely to continue indefinitely.

In an effort to lift spirits of these residents, and assist staff of these facilities, the Del-Chen-O Chapter of the Women's Bar Association of the State of New York launched the "1000 Cards Campaign" in an effort to bring moments of joy to the elderly population who reside in nursing homes in Otsego, Chenango and Delaware Counties.
