NEW BERLIN – The New Berlin Library held an organizational board meeting at 6 p.m. December 30 at 6 pm. This meeting was held to elect officers for the 2021 calendar year.

New Berlin Library Board of Trustee terms last five years but officers must be re-elected every year from within the existing trustees.

George Anderson was elected Board President, Darla Smith was elected Board Vice-President, Donna Wells was elected Treasurer, and Angelica Schmidt was elected Secretary.

The New Berlin Library Board of Trustees will hold a meeting on January 27 at 6 p.m. At this meeting the board will be discussing the closure of the community room to public use. The Community Room has been closed since November 25 due to the increase of COVID 19 cases in the area.

The Library will be closed January 18 in honor of Martin Luther King Jr. Day. As a reminder, the New Berlin Library is closed on all federal holidays.

Some great new additions to the library include: The Mystery of Mrs. Christie by Marie Benedict, NYPD Red 6 by James Patterson and Marshall Karp, Rural Voices: 15 Authors Challenge Assumptions about Small Town America edited by Nora Shalaway Carpenter, This Is My America by Kim Johnson, The Truth Project by Dante Medema, Miss Meteor by Tehlor Kay Mejia and Anna-Marie McLemore, Hush, Hush (A Stone Barrington Novel) by Stuart Woods, and Neighbors by Danielle Steel.

The New Berlin Library is located at 15 South Main Street, New Berlin.  The Library is open Monday and Wednesday 10 a.m.-8 p.m.; Tuesday, Thursday, Friday 10 a.m.-5 p.m.; and Saturdays 10 a.m.-noon.
