Norwich Schools To Host Senior Appreciation Parade Norwich High School Principal Kistin Giglio

NORWICH - The Norwich City School District has announced that there will be a Senior Appreciation Parade on Friday night led by local emergency responders.

According to Norwich High School Principal Kistin Giglio, the parade is one of many ways the school is trying to show its appreciation for Norwich High School seniors, with several other surprises for graduates in store.

Giglio said the student parade will start at 9 p.m. Friday night, and it will run from Broad Street at the traffic light at Hale Street and move North to Aldi's.

“Norwich is known for this kind of support, come on out and help give the students the sendoff they deserve,” said Giglio. “We had to get lots of permissions to make this happen, so please maintain social distancing guidelines and wear a mask when you do come out for the parade.”

Giglio said this is the first year the high school has held a parade like this, but that now more than ever it's important that schools and communities show appreciation for their senior graduates.

“With everything that has happened, there are so many special things for the kids we have planned,” she said. “This particular idea came around earlier this year, and was made possible thanks to dedicated school staff and community members.”
