NORWICH – At Norwich High School, students and teachers have come together to create a space where students can gain access to basic needs.

The Purple Pride Closet is a resource available to all high school students. The closet, which is more the size of an office, contains school supplies, non-perishable food, hygiene products, and backpacks. The closet also has lightly used or new clothing including jeans, shirts, winter coats, winter hats, and socks.

The closet was first conceptualized in September of 2019. Starting with just a few donation items, it has developed into a The Norwich High School Spanish Club, lead by NHS Spanish Teacher Kim Carey, spearheaded the project but received help and support from all over the school.
