Good Shooting And Big Defensive Push Give Storm Fourth Win Of Season

Marauders take conference win over Canastota

NEW BERLIN – An impressive shooting night to go with a strong defensive effort in the second half by the Storm gave the host Unadilla Valley team a non-league win over Laurens Monday night.

“We shot the ball really well all game,” said UV head coach Matt Osborne. “We also played some outstanding defense in the second half to come away with this win.”

Leading the way offensively was the Storm’s Cameron Osborne, pouring in a game-high 20 points. Osborne finished with 10 rebounds as well to capture the double-double in the scoring column.

The game started out with a tight deficit after the first quarter as UV held a 14-11 lead.

However, the Storm outscored the visiting Laurens team 22-13 in the second to go into the locker room ahead by 12 points.

Out of the intermission, Unadilla Valley showed no signs of letting up as they went on a 21-10 run to bring the lead to a 23-point difference.

In the fourth, the two teams were close in scoring but offensive spurts in the middle quarters by the Storm gave the home team the 73-47 victory.
