NORWICH – At last week’s Norwich city common counsel meeting, Alderman Matthew Caldwell presented owners of Rita's Tavern with certificate of appreciation.

Caldwell recently discovered that over the course of the past six years, Rita's owners Mike Hayes and Adam Bosworth have donated about $9500 to the City of Norwich youth bureau. This money sponsored summer bus trips, events at the colonial theater and ice skating rink, plus other special programs and supplies for the youth bureau.

“It means a lot to the community, the kids are gonna remember this stuff forever. It gives them connection to the community that they might not have,” said Caldwell.
