Rep. Anthony Brindisi, following party, votes for impeachment inquiry Representative Anthony Brindisi of 22nd District

WASHINGTON D.C. – Thursday the House of Representatives voted along party lines to begin an investigation that may remove the president of the United States from office before elections next year.

The house voted 232 in favor of the impeachment inquiry and 196 against. Republicans protested and not a single member of the party voted to support the resolution, while two Democrats voted against it.

Area congressman, Representative Anthony Brindisi of the 22nd District, voted in favor of the impeachment resolution.

Besides Chenango County the congressional district mainly includes Madison, Cortland and Onedia Counties.

This is only the fourth time in U.S. history a congress has sought to impeach a president.

Each month, Brindisi's team holds mobile office hours across the district to meet residents and answer questions. Representatives from his office will be in Chenango on November 7.
